A dental implant is a titanium post surgically placed into the jawbone — functioning as an artificial tooth root. Once it integrates with the bone, a crown, bridge, or denture is attached on top. The result is a permanent, natural-looking replacement that looks, feels, and functions like a real tooth.
Implants are widely considered the best long-term solution for missing teeth. Unlike bridges, they don't require altering adjacent healthy teeth. Unlike dentures, they don't shift, slip, or limit what you can eat. And unlike both, they preserve the jawbone, preventing the bone loss that occurs when a tooth is missing.
Done with precision and proper planning, a well-placed implant can last a lifetime.

Your Implant Specialist
Why the Implant Specialist Matters
Implant dentistry requires both surgical skill and precise planning. The margin for error is small. Technology matters. Training matters. The experience of the person placing the implant matters enormously.
At Venetian Pointe, implant cases are led by Dr. Rick Rampi. He's completed extensive post-graduate training in immediate implants, bone grafting, implant site rehabilitation, full arch prosthetics, and 3D digital surgical planning using Cone-Beam CT (CBCT) imaging. He integrates 3D printing into his workflow for precision surgical guides, a level of technology that most general practices in the Orlando area don't offer.
Dr. Rick also holds an MBA and spent years in business before dentistry, which means he communicates clearly, sets expectations accurately, and doesn't make the process more complicated than it needs to be. Patients who've been told their case is too complex elsewhere often find that it isn't.
What We Offer
Our Implant Services
Single Tooth Implants
The most common implant procedure, replacing one missing tooth with a single implant post and crown. The result is indistinguishable from a natural tooth and doesn't affect the teeth on either side.
Full Arch Implants
For patients who are missing all or most of their teeth on the upper or lower arch. A small number of implants support a full fixed arch of teeth, permanent, stable, and far more functional than traditional dentures.
Implant-Supported Dentures
A more stable alternative to conventional dentures. Implants anchor the denture firmly in place, eliminating slipping, improving chewing ability, and preserving the jawbone.
Bone Grafting
Missing teeth cause the surrounding bone to resorb over time. Bone grafting restores lost bone volume, creating a strong foundation for implant placement when the existing bone isn't sufficient. Dr. Rick performs grafting here, in the office, without a referral to an oral surgeon.
Precision Starts Before the First Appointment
Most implant complications come from inadequate planning. We use Cone-Beam CT (CBCT) imaging to produce a 3D map of your jaw, bone density, and nerve locations before we place anything. Dr. Rick uses this data to plan the exact position, angle, and depth of each implant, and in many cases, produces a 3D-printed surgical guide for precise placement.
This isn't standard at general dental practices. It's the level of planning that specialist oral surgery centers use, and it's available here, in Dr. Phillips, Orlando.
Who Is a Good Candidate for Dental Implants?
Bone volume
Implants need sufficient bone to anchor into. Patients who've had missing teeth for a long time may need bone grafting first. We assess this with CBCT imaging.
Gum health
Active gum disease needs to be treated before implant placement. We can handle this here.
Overall health
Certain medical conditions and medications can affect healing. We review your health history at the consultation.
Smoking
Smoking significantly increases implant failure rates. We discuss this openly with patients who smoke.
If you've been told you're not a candidate for implants elsewhere, it's worth getting a second opinion. Cases that seem complex often aren't, with the right technology and training.

Dental Implants — Common Questions
How long do dental implants last?
The implant itself — the titanium post — can last a lifetime with proper care. The crown on top may need replacing after 15–20 years, but that's a straightforward procedure compared to starting over. We'd rather you understand the long-term picture upfront.
How much do dental implants cost in Orlando?
It depends on how many implants, whether bone grafting is needed, and what's going on top of the implant. We give you full pricing at the consultation — no vague estimates. We also offer flexible payment plans because we know this isn't cheap. What we'll tell you honestly: over time, implants are almost always the more cost-effective choice.
Does the implant process hurt?
Most patients are surprised by how manageable it is. The placement is done under local anesthesia, and the soreness afterward is usually handled with over-the-counter medication. If you're nervous, tell us before you come in. We see anxious patients all the time and we pace ourselves accordingly.
How long does the implant process take?
From placement to final crown, typically 3–6 months. That's not delay — that's the bone integrating with the implant. It's what makes implants permanent. Some cases qualify for immediate loading, meaning you leave with a tooth the same day. We'll tell you at the consultation whether that's an option.
What happens if I don't replace a missing tooth?
The bone under that tooth starts to shrink — usually within months. Adjacent teeth shift. Your bite changes. The longer you wait, the more complicated and expensive the eventual fix becomes. An implant placed early is significantly simpler than one placed after bone loss.
